First Office Visit
Your first office visit and exam will take about two hours. By the end of the visit, we will be able to determine if upper cervical chiropractic care is recommended for your condition. Your first visit will include:
- Discussion of health history and complaints:
Please bring any previous medical records such as x-rays, MRI and lab test results, etc. to this visit.
They will be reviewed and discussed.
- Orthopedic and neurological exams:
Detailed examinations for the areas of complaint.
- Precision x-rays of the upper cervical spine (if necessary):
If during your examination we discover nervous system dysfunction, an accurate determination of the position of the two uppermost bones in your spine must be made. Before the first adjustment, specific x-ray views from various angles will be analyzed to determine the three-dimensional displacement of the upper cervical vertebrae. Be assured that radiological examinations are performed only when clinically necessary to insure proper patient care.
Second Office Visit
Your second office visit will require about an hour. Information obtained from your first visit is analyzed and used to determine a personalized treatment plan specific to you. If you choose to begin care, you can receive your first upper cervical correction during this visit.
Subsequent Office Visits
Subsequent visits to our office will take anywhere from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the evaluation of your nervous system. In general, each visit will include:
- PDII scan:
A non-invasive, painless scan is performed at every office visit to determine if a chiropractic correction is needed.
- Chiropractic correction (only if necessary):
An upper cervical correction is given only when a nervous system dysfunction is determined by the PDII scan.
- Post-correction PDII scan:
After recuperation, another PDII scan is performed to determine if a positive change to the nervous system was made.
